looks like some of your paint peeled? if so i suggest you let the paint dry longer.. trust me it makes a difference

Ya, everyone, the red in the biohazard is my shirt, and the blue is the painters tape and the black is the regular case, lol for confusing you all  plus if ur talking about some of the black in the inside, that is stuff i removed since then. thnx for hte in put.

Dremel? If so, what disk did you cut with? Nice work.

No, I used a jigsaw, i had my dad and a 2 buds hold while i cut.. theres a finger on the floor... Just think of it this way, its for the mod! j/k j/k, ya just a jigsaw and some buds helping, but i would have used a peice of plywood or sumthing and cut it if the blade would have been shorter, but with me cuttin it off the side of my work bench part of it broke, but i superglued it and some jb weld and its good now. i tried dremel at first, way too hard. broke the disk. rotary bit $8 broke that, now it fits in my dremel  . jigsaw would be anyones best bet. and files, files, and some sanding stones on the dremel. B) and BTW thnx

I just joined today looking to get some help on modding. I saw this thread so I thought I might aswell post here. I hope to learn more about modding withought buying expensive books and pricey equipment. I want to paint my case and make it look a bit more flashy but I dont know where to start. Like what are the first steps to doing it safely and withought dripy paint jobs? what paint do I use(like gloss or priming it first? I have some experience with painting but case modding is new to me)? and many more questions. I want to get it right the first time because I dont have the money to experiment with messing up. Just need some tips. THats all.

Thanks :)

Wow I was looking for a great paint job with the steps and I found the best yet.

I was about to give up on my new case. I guess I won't have to now.

Ya..thanks linear. U did a good job on that case. and I like the picture of u. lol. THat glossy coat made it look like a damn mirror. awesome job.
How long did it take u to do that whole project? I kinda depend on my comp alot and having it offline would dissapoint me. :-)

The longest part is waiting for your clear coats and color coats to fully cure before sanding them. I waited three days for each of the two color and two clear coats to cure. There's 12 days alone.

Overall time spent working probably breaks down like
1 hour shopping (I had most of this stuff)
3 hours prep (do not shortcut here)
1.5 hours actually laying down paint
2 hours sanding between coats
4 hours (maybe more, I try not to think about it too hard) finish sanding
3 hours doing photography (I've got easily 5 times as many pictures as you see)

whats the size of the jigsaw bit dude? If it is so long that you need people to hold it, I'd buy a shorter one, I use a 1 1/2 inch one and it always works buddy oldpal!
