If I were to make a case out of acrylic (15x15x15) what would be the best thickness to use and what would be the best way to put the box together?

.250 cell-cast acrylic is what you want to use if you aren't using some internal skeleton for reinforcement.

The only realistic choice is butt joints cemented with IPS Weld-on #3 or #4 if you're going for the most clear joint possible. If that's not an important design consideration, then there are lots of ways to assemble it, most of the best ways involve attaching hte acrylic panels to an internal frame.
