I need 1/4" smoked acrylic panels to build a computer case, but I can't find the stuff anywhere. I went to my local glass shop and they can order it, but I have to get a 4' x 8' sheet and it would cost me about $250. I don't have that kind of money to spend, plus I don't need a 4' x 8' sheet. I've been searching on the internet for days and can't find a thing. Does anyone know where I can find 1/4" smoked acrylic panels? Please help.

Weel you could go to http://www.tapplastics.com/, but again you will have to buy sheets in quanititys bigger than you want. You could also use standard platic and use window tinting on the inside. You can then use the cheaper acrylic or lexan sheeting that is available at hardware stores. The cost of the tinting is not great and it offers you the flexibilty to apply in only in the patterns you want it in. This would for example allow you to leave a clear window, or paint the inside masking off certain areas then tint them giving the effect of a solid panel when backlighting is off and a window when backlights are on. You et enough tinting film for an entire case at a pepboys or auto zone etc.. for less than $40

its best to buy sheets locally if you can that way there is no chance of damage in shipping, look in your yellow pages under plastic's and you should find a wholesale/retail place that stocks it and cuts to size.

What about lexan? you can buy it really cheap at any Home Depot or Lowe's. Lexan might work just as good as an Acrylic sheet. You can also get it in varying sizes. Also varing Shades.
