I cannot find info on that race car simulator mod I saw Yoshi do several months (year?) ago. I work for a simulator company and I want to propose a design based on Yoshi's creation. I'd love to see the article on this project, but cannot find it anywhere -not here nor on g4's site. Also, what was the brand of wheel and pedals used? We need a pro solution like that for our sims.

No one has any leads for me?

Well honestly. I wont give you my design to sell for your profit.
I dont do work for others to come along and take my designs and profit of of me.
I will tell you I used BRD wheel and pedals. They are great.

Yoshi, I'm so sorry- I didn't consider that.. At my company they are looking for a driver trainer solution somewhere in between a full firetruck cab and a desktop station. I loved your design and thought that the concept was a perfect step in-between. I didn't want to steal your blueprints per se, just wanted to show my boss some pictures or video to communicate the concept.

OK sorry. It sounded like you wanted build copies of it.
I will post some pics of it.

I made the base frame first. I did this very seat of the pants. I know I should have made jigs etc. It just didnt end up happening that way...

I added the uprights and the top frame bar by the driver. I wanted it to feel like you were closed in the car. Very tight much like a real race car is. I was obviously going more for the forumla car feel.

Here the speaker mounts are weled in. The big pole in the center is for the center channel so it can sit above the center monitor.
the L/R are on the monitor mounts and the rear are beside the drivers head area.

My Bro Tuy playing. The first person besides me to try it out. This was before I added the parhelia card. So the game was not spanned across all three monitors, like when I showed it on TSS and Xplay.

Hey Yosh I am very interested in what video card you used and how you got all 3 monitors to work. Also what game you used and what games would not work with surround gaming? Im building one for myself and am trying to find out as much info on this subject before I go and spend a bunch of money on my monitors.
Thanks for any leads you can give me.

awesome sim, what racing program do you use in the machine?
Yoshi

I play mostly nascar 2003 ( i love the mods for it), F1 Challenge, and GTR demo I cant wait for that to come out.
Unfortuneatly the SIM has long since been dismantled and that hardware sent back.
The video card was OK. You had to turn down some of the settings but it was very playable.

Thats the illest thing besides me! :P
What does "Got Rice" mean?
Also, Dessicator, may I suggest a pair of joysticks for each hand on the sides of your sim. I dunno if yours is strictly racing or what but it sure would make for some kickass mechassault or similar game. Maybe ass some of dem bass shakers to it too. Not much bass in racing games but still would be cool.

There is no reason that you posting 'nice' should take up my whole browser window running on 1280x1024 to where I can't see another post. Please make it smaller and at least have it pertain to something.

Yoshi,
Glad to see photos of your sim.
That's one fine ride, are you going to build another one.
You should have a sim ****pit section in your fourms.
Still working on mine.

that's awesome, my suggestion would probably be something that can accomodate the Steel Battalion controller, that would be sweet. jeez, I think I might mos my steel battalion controller, anyways that bass idea sounds sweet, like a box with 2x18"s, it's excessive, and I love excessive.
