Good Lan party games

Hey everyone,
I was thinking bout organizing a lan party at my house. This is the first time i have organized one. I was wondering what some good games to play would be. There are only going to be bout 8-16 people.

UT, UT2k3, CS, BF1942.....those are about the funnest games to play at a Lan Party....i kno theres more....just can think of any off the top of my head.

I'd add starcraft to that list.
and never rule out Team Fortress on GL Quake, or Half Life DM.

be careful with newer games, they take fairly upto date computer to run. We play UT2k3 and Age of Mythology at the last lan, but only ~1/2 of the dozen or so guys can really play them. Where as anyone with a computer can play HL or Starcraft.

everyone else has already touched on the awesome LAN games like UT2k3, Quake III Team Arena, and such...but i didn't see WarCraft III up there...that's another good game for a Lan party...

I would add racing games but i am a big racing nut. like EA F12002. Need for speed hot pursuit is fun against freinds.

how about a realy old game that is just used for stress management in breaks... sims (any of em) or viper racing something along that sort

Starcraft of course...it's a classic for a reason.
Quake is a standard in LAN parties. It WILL be played at some point.

That said: Counter-Strike, Counter-Strike, Counter-Strike!!

EA's F1 2002 is freaking amazing, crank that sound up wooooooo baby

ALright, two games i haven't seen anyone mention . . . . C&C Renegade (comon, its priceless dropping a nuke on your friends) and Tribes 2 (more sepcifically TAC 2, a mod where u can't touch the ground). What ever happened to these two being on the list?
Also, if anyone still plays C&C Renegade, "drop me a line" so to speak so we can play a game!

Me and my friends one day went hell bent on a giant lan party since we had alot of friends, i think our lan had like 50 people. TSS has some good games for the Nvidia lan party but then need to expand more, like Half-Life has alot of mods that arnt really known that we played, like TSS should run mods like: The Specialist, Natural Selection, Day Of Defeat, and when i heard that they were playing Counter-Strike i thought that maybe this might be a jump in that direction, but yeah as was said before games like UT2k3, BF1942, even Global Operations is a good one, TSS will def. start seeing more out of their lan parts with some of these games, but if your thinking about hosting your own lan party i suggest you try running some of these games, there really fun and not too many people know of them.

Play desert combat it's a mod for battlefield 1942 www.desertcombat.com (http://www.desertcombat.com) there also is a mutator for ut2003 that makes the rocket launcher shoot redemer bullets (nukes) that makes for an insane game download that at http://ut2003.betaone.com/Mutators/index.htm it's called rocket redemption V1.01
