Before reading:
The poll has has duplicated itself somehow on an edit! (Please vote on the first option and not the repeat...unless if a moderator can somehow fix that mess -- Thanks) Hi All, OK, I've been trying to decide which X-Box Game Enhancer to buy: << X-Box Action Replay vs. X-Box Game Shark vs. (other, if any) >> Prices seem to be the same between the two, so I'm more interested in which one works better and has the most codes published for the games out there. For those who are anti-cheating, let's just say I'd like to do this to make games like Castle Wolfenstein a bit harder, and maybe do weird things like turn everyone's head green. -- Seriously though, I've beaten many of these games already, and just want to get more use out of them by just having fun and exploring the boards again, in more detail and not having to worry about "the bad guys". So... without further ado: Round 1... ** X-Box Action Replay vs. X-Box Game Shark vs. (other, if any) ** Pete |

interesting fact(i think)...
on my recent trip to Best Buy, I just learned that the company that owns Action Replay bought the Game Shark, and to make matters more confusing, the "Game Shark" name was sold, and another company was able to release the "Game Shark". (This is what I was told there, so I'm not 100% sure about that, but he sounded pretty convincing.) ...so apparently there's "two?" Game Sharks out there? ...maybe if someone knows more, can anyone clarify on that one? (lol!) thanks! I also learned there is a 3rd! enhancer in the mix (or 4th?, putting the above paragraph into consideration)...something called Code_____ (i forgot the 2nd part of the title). so...I'm now wondering if the GameShark for X-Box I saw in the Mall was older or brand new. I'm starting to (partially) answer my own question here....but I'm posting the (semi-answer) in case if anyone else has the same question about this:
The Action Replay: This device is *NOT* the typical "cheating" device like it and the Game Shark has been before. Although the Action Replay's box says things like "Unlimited Cash" "Battle Codes" "Unlimited Energy" "Extra Ammunition" "Unlimited.....Unlimited......Unlimited" ....it is the GENERIC box from the Action Replays for other gaming systems and is MISLEADING. It is a completely DIFFERENT product than what I thought it was, and what it has been in the past. The packaging shows the 8MB Card that conveniently fits into the X-Box controller with the fancy Action Replay logo right on it....so, since it fits in the controller, it must be an X-Box device, right? NO !!!!!!!!!!!!!! All this is, is a TYPICAL X-BOX Memory Card!!!! So...what does this thing have to do with the "Action Replay"? Well... it's really a PC Device!! yes, you read it right, a PC Device! ----It's not really a plug-in card for your X-Box, it's a Memory Card access device for your computer! Behind the fancy marketed cardboard behind the 8MB Card is a USB Card Reader for the computer. With this thing, you can copy the saved files to your personal computer, and vice-versa. Why? So you can share your saved games with other people. The action replay's site points to ANOTHER web site: "codejunkies.com", which points to other people's saved games so you can download them. Many of these saved games are saved "right" before the end of the game. ....so...what fun is that? There's NO unlimited cash, unlimited energy, time, ammo, characters, battle codes. What a bunch of lies. Is it a good product? Maybe it is.... Does it do what it says on the front and the back of the box? Definitely not. ~~> So..... the question remains on the other side.... What's the deal with the Game Shark? Does THAT give unlimited lives? unlimited power? unlimited ammo? allow you to jump extra high? Although I have seen the Game Shark once in the Mall at EBX/Electronics Boutique (or another store like it), I'm having an extremely hard time finding X-Box Game Shark Information online. <~~ :?: --> Does anyone have the X-Box Game Shark ...or... does anyone have any facts about it? <-- :?: ...after all, if the X-Box Game Shark is the same thing as this (and unlike previous Game Sharks) the Action Replay might be more worth buying after all (although it wasn't originally what I was looking for). Thanks so much!! Pete |
